Fall into the new season!

As the summer comes to an end you may start to think that it’s only a matter of time before Jack Frost comes knocking on our doors. But don’t worry because we still have the wonderful fall season to look forward too! Nothing can bring you down when you think about warm Apple cider, the smell of pumpkin spiced lattes, and feeling that crisp outdoor air! Well, if that still won’t sell you, then why not throw an event to get you in the mood? Here are some great fall entertaining tips that will get you excited and ready for the new season!

What makes a good event is style and decoration! There are so many amazing fall décor tips and tricks that can help spice up your event space and your overall event.

Besides flowers of course, the easiest way to make a fall themed centerpiece is with pumpkins! You can spray paint them, bedazzle them, or dress them up with natural foliage. Perfect, easy, and fits an autumn theme!

Lanterns are a great way to decorate for an event. Not only do they add light, but they also create a certain ambiance. Fill your lanterns with pinecones, acorns, candles, or even fresh leaves from outside. They are a fun simple touch to make your event space look great! Just make sure to take the wind into account.

And of course…

Flowers are the key to brightening up any room. One way you can make your arrangement blend in with the theme is by adding some seasonal fruit, vegetables, or herbs. You can even use a pumpkin as a vase! Just carve and clean out the middle, place a beautiful arrangement inside, and you have a great centerpiece or decoration for your event!

Besides the beautiful decor, the next best thing for an event is booze! Entertain your guest with a seasonal signature beverage. Put them in the mood for those cool crisp fall days. Try whipping up one of our favorites- hard cider sangria!

Hard Cider Sangria

hot cider

1 cup quartered and thinly sliced unpeeled green, yellow, and red apples.

1 naval orange- quartered and thinly sliced crosswise

1 cup apple juice, chilled

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

¼ cup apple brandy

One 22- once bottle hard apple cider

In a pitcher, combine the apples with the orange, apple juice, lemon juice and brandy Just before serving, add the hard cider. Serve in tall glasses over ice.

After your event is over it’s sometimes a nice idea to leave your guests with a fun-parting gift.  Candy apples are a great way to stay within the fall theme as well as leave everyone with a sweet tasty dessert.

We hope this helps you throw a fun fall filled event and get you excited for the new season!

Behind the Scenes at OCRF Super Saturday NY 2015

What a crazy couple of weeks it’s been! We are finally getting back into the swing of things after one of our biggest events of the year: OCRF Super Saturday NY. You might have seen our press post about the event here but we wanted to also give you a look inside our world as we prepped and worked this ex event.

This year’s arrangement ‘recipe’ was collectively one of our favorites! The modern-rustic vibe of the florals went so well with the amazing outdoor venue at Nova’s Ark Project.

B Floral Super Saturday

Miles of blue skies! We were so lucky to be blessed with gorgeous blue skies and sunny weather for both prep days and especially the day of the big event! This is just half of the event-site:

B Floral Novas Ark

The VIP tent set and ready for the first arrivals. We placed over 150 arrangements in the VIP tent and throughout the grounds. Seeing the venue come together is one of the most rewarding feelings!

Letting our arrangement steal the spot light for a moment! We just love how the wooden boxed arrangement with vintage inspired flowers really helped to balance out all of the bright blues and teals.

A peak inside the OCRF and B Floral tent! We were so honored to have teamed up with OCRF this year to provide floral crowns for guests. Our floral designers made over 1,000 crowns!! Needless to say- it was a success!

B Seen: Press and Love from OCRF Super Saturday

Happy Monday! Here at B Floral, we’re busy readjusting to life in the office after a long (amazing!) weekend in the Hamptons at Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s Super Saturday. Bronwen – the B in B Floral – has been a supporter of OCRF for many years and represents the cause as one of it’s board of directors.  The OCRF/ BFloral  flower crown booth was a huge hit at the event (in the words of Curbed NY, “flower crowns rule!”). Scroll through some of our favorite snaps of the event below – these pictures (and the celebrities in them) certainly speak for themselves!

Women’s Wear Daily snapped this picture of our radiant, hardworking team! So much planning and so many long hours went into making our booth a success, and we’re so proud of the entire B Floral team!

WWD also captured some great images of stylish Super Saturday attendees sporting our flower crowns. It’s hard to look glamorous in a grassy field on a hot day, but these ladies pull it off effortlessly! The crowns added a playful, earthy flair to their polished outfits.

OCRF Super Saturday LA

We were so honored to be a part of OCRF Super Saturday LA this year. Supporting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund has always been extremely important to the B Floral team.

So last week we packed up our team and floral designers, and headed to the west coast!

This year we provided all of the florals for OCRF Super Saturday LA and created a Mary Kay flower wall and DIY flower crown bar.  We had such an amazing time supporting this wonderful cause.

17th Annual Super Saturday

Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF), the largest and oldest charity funding research on ovarian cancer in the U.S., will hold its 17th annual Super Saturday New York event on July 26th. In the past, B Floral has sponsored numerous of OCRF’s events. B Floral, the official floral sponsor of Super Saturday NY, will design 140 picturesque arrangements consisting of sweet and sunny oranges, perfect for this summer’s charity occasion.

Join us this Saturday July 26th as B Floral lends its helping hand for one of the Hamptons’ premiere summer events. NY Weddings Show at the Metropolitan Pavilion

Thank you to all the brides-to-be that visited us at the New York Weddings Event on March 27th at the Metropolitan Pavilion!  We displayed quite an assortment of bouquets and arrangements for the exciting events surrounding the big day. From centerpieces for the bridal shower to boutonnieres for the groom, our display exhibited all of the different options we can create for the special occasions leading up to your wedding. We also had a unique visit from Good Morning America’s Ginger Zee, who is engaged to Ben Aaron and is considering for a wildflower look for her bouquet. Bronwen showed Ginger different bouquet ideas and explained which flowers might create the right look for Ginger’s perfect bouquet. Tune in to GMA this Friday morning to see Bronwen and Ginger discuss different bouquets!

Bright and In Bloom

B Floral hosted special guests for an evening of Champagne, hors d’oeuvres and floral design on February 26th.  Bronwen and the B Floral team transformed the B Floral studio into a Spring Sanctuary.  After the winter we’ve experienced in New York, guests were relieved to step into a room full of bright, fragrant flowers.  The displays around the studio featured arrangements suited for a variety of bridal, corporate, and social events.  Bronwen led guests through a floral design mini-class, and they were able to take home the bouquets they designed along with their goody bags filled with B Floral candles, L’Occitane soap, and jars of hibiscus tea blended by Rustic T.  Our guests seemed to really enjoy themselves, and we had a wonderful response on social media. Follow us on Instagram and Twitter, and search to see more images.

Annual T.E.A.L. Walk

As you know by now, B Floral is a strong supporter of the fight against Ovarian Cancer and September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. If you are looking for something to do this weekend, why not head to Prospect Park in Brooklyn for the 5TH ANNUAL T.E.A.L. WALK/5K RUN to celebrate? The T.E.A.L. Walk is currently the largest Ovarian Cancer Walk in New York City, and has raised a quarter of a million dollars since inception to help spread awareness about the disease, and fund research. This year, for the first time ever T.E.A.L. will also be hosting a 5k Run to take place before the Walk, beginning at 9am.

T.E.A.L. is a grassroots foundation started by two Brooklyn sisters when the late Louisa M. McGregor was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Because there is no accurate screening for Ovarian Cancer, T.E.A.L. works to educate and inform woman about the signs and symptoms of the disease in order to help facilitate early detection, and save lives. T.E.A.L. also works to help fund screening research with the hope that women will have a reliable Ovarian Cancer screening test in the foreseeable future.

Online Registration is now closed but you can still register in person on the day of the event or give a donation at www.tealwalk.org.
