Soft Pastels
We love the latest spring fashion trend of pastel colored pieces of clothing paired together for an overall outfit full of beautiful shades reminiscent of ice cream flavors. Pastel colored clothing can be found all over and by designers like Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs and Tommy Hilfiger. Best thing about this trend is how easily it can be transferred to events. A pastel color palette screams spring and can be girly yet soft and sophisticated at the same time.

Cherry Beer Margaritas
I’m a sucker for margaritas, just something about how refreshing they are with a hint of tartness makes me love them. Cherry Beer Margaritas from The Blond Cook are a fun twist on the classic and look absolutely mouth watering.

Ingredients:
- (1) 12 ounce can frozen limeade concentrate
- 12 ounces cherry flavored soda
- (1) 12 ounce bottle of your favorite beer (I used Corona Light)
- 12 ounces of your favorite tequila
- Kosher salt, for rimming glass
- Lime for garnish
- Cherries for garnish
Directions:
- Rub lime wedge around rim of each glass; dip in kosher salt.
- In a large pitcher, mix all ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon to combine.
- Serve over ice (if desired) & garnish with a lime wedge & cherry.
Pretty as a Peach

Happy Monday! It is such a beautiful day in the city today, not to mention 82 degrees! I came across a recipe for these adult popsicles on Pinterest today and not only did they make my mouth water but the color of them was just beautiful.
Strawberry Peach Vodka Collins Popsicles
Makes 12 2.5 oz Popsicles
6 oz pureed strawberry (about 10 strawberries)
2 oz peach syrup (recipe follows)
12 oz tonic water
2 oz plus 3 oz vodka (divided use)
Instructions:
1. Stir strawberry puree with 2 oz. of vodka. Place three teaspoons of strawberry mixture in the bottom of popsicle form; set aside. (As mentioned in last week’s cocktail popsicle, I used cordial glasses, but any form will work.)
2. Stir peach syrup with tonic water stir to combine. Add vodka and stir to combine.
3. Pour peach and vodka mixture over strawberry mixture and stir to combine.
4. Freeze for about 2 hours or until mixture starts to solidify enough to hold a popsicle stick upright. Insert popsicle sticks and finish freezing popsicles overnight. To release popsicles run hot water on the outside of popsicle molds for a 2-3 seconds.
Peach Syrup
(You will have more syrup than you need. Save for other cocktail uses)
½ cup sliced peaches (about 4 medium size peaches)
1 cup water
1 cups sugar
Instructions:
1. Wash, peel, and pit peaches. Place peaches in a blender or food processor and process until peaches are pureed.
2. Place water, sugar and peach puree in a pot and bring to a boil and continue to boil for 5 minutes.
Weekly Roundup
Happy Friday everyone! We had a crazy week at B Floral but crazy in a good way! We had an event at Centolire and a photo shoot. Photo shoot days always require a lot of prep and planning but are one of my favorite things to do because we get to hang out with such an awesome crew, including Heather from Bad Feather, our design firm, and Candice and Colleen from Dyad Photography. Cupcakes, laughs, Keeping up with the Kardashians reruns and some awesome photographs of our flower arrangements made Thursday a very fun day for us.

And here’s a couple of things we are loving from the Internet this week…
1. This amazing orange bridal shower featured on Style Me Pretty.

2. The Charm City Cakes Summer 2012 Collection. I only picked out a few but make sure to check the collection out because they are all amazing!

Flower of the Month

Our flower of the month is the peony. We get excited to see these large and full flowers every time we step into the flower market with their bright colors and intoxicating smell. Funny enough the flower actually acquired the Victorian meaning “bashfulness” which they certainly do not seem to have any of. They start becoming available in the late spring and last until early autumn. It’s sad that they’re beauty can only be found for such a short amount of time but I guess it only helps us to appreciate them even more.
Chalkboard Inspiration
I feel as if chalkboard details are popping up in so many events and you can find chalkboard items all over now. They can function in so many ways and provide not only a personalized touch but are a bit quirky. Chalkboard items can be used as place cards, bar menus, seating charts, table numbers, favors and anything in between. Bonus is they can be kept long after the event and hung up as a special momento or let’s face it as a plain old chalkboard.

Slate heart place holders, sign, and vase are from BHLDN.

How To: Line Envelopes
This week’s month’s how to post is on lining envelopes. Sure it’s not necessary but it just a small touch that can make invitations feel so much more special and complete. There are so many pretty decorative papers on the market that matching one to your invites couldn’t be easier.

First you have to make a template that will be used to then cut out the craft paper (or fabric, dictionary pages, maps, dollies, whatever you want to line the envelopes with). If you purchase your envelopes from a site like Paper Source you can simply buy their Envelope Liner Template Kit or pre-cut liners from them. If you’re getting your envelopes from somewhere that does not offer a liner template check out this tutorial to make your own template. Once the paper has been cut to shape simply place some glue strips on the back, slip it into the envelope and press to seal the paper to the envelope. Once the paper is securely in the envelope, fold the flap down and crease the paper with your fingertips.

Love the look but don’t have the time? Most invitation designers can handle the job, lined envelopes can even be purchased from sites such as etsy, or pre-cut liners can be purchased from suppliers like Paper Source.
