Chewing the Cud

Sorry to overwhelm you with all of these valentine’s cards. I’m just slightly obsessing over them all!

This month’s flower is the tissue paper thin petaled Ranunculus. These lush, multi-petaled flowers are a more cost effective alternative to other full blooms such as peonies and garden roses. In the victorian language of flowers, to carry ranunculus, is to tell your partner to be that you are “dazzled by their charms.” We love going to the flower market and being able to see these beautiful flowers in the huge array of colors that they can be found in; from pale yellows to reds and oranges to pinks, whites or deep purples.

The B Floral girls had quite a hectic week prepping for the bash but even after a few setbacks and some clumsy moments we put together a party we are very proud of, complete with floral displays throughout the room and some treats to satisfy even our very discerning sweet teeth (farewell for a bit cupcakes, we have officially jumped on the macaron obsession train). Our fish models from our last photo shoot, Rico and Suave, were also able to make the event. Thanks Heather for letting us borrow them for the evening!

Unfortunately there are no new cupcakes or cakes to report about because we didn’t need them for any of the scenes and we are trying to be a little healthier. We were a little sugar deprived because we’re definitely used to having them around on shoot days but the Cinnabon and Vanilla Caramel coffee creamers helped a bit. The new photos will be up on our site shortly but in the meantime below are some behind the scenes actions and some sneak previews.
