Spring Break Table-Escape

Last week we created 5 centerpieces to compliment tables designed by interior designers for JAB Anstoetz’s Spring Break Table-Escape event that took place during Spring Market at the D&D Building. The designers were given the opportunity to incorporate JAB Anstoetz‘s fabrics, Lenox tableware, and our flowers to create a tablescape that transported viewers to the designer’s favorite spring break location. Chevron Inspiration

Time for a little inspiration this Monday in the form of chevron. Chevron simply means a line or strip in the form of a “v” or an inverted “v” and I’m sure you’ve seen it just about everywhere by now. From linens, to fabrics to papers, the simple pattern is a beautiful addition to tables, dresses and invitations.

It’s been a good week around here at B Floral, Monday we brought flowers over to Carolines on Broadway for an OCRF event and today we brought flowers to New York Weddings Magazine to be shot for their upcoming Winter Issue. Happy Friday! I cannot handle how nice the weather has been lately and am very excited to enjoy a warm, sunny weekend! This week we explored the flower market, had a OCRF event at City Bakery and finished up some planning for an awesome upcoming event at the D&D Building.

With it being Cinco De Mayo this weekend, we figured we would do a Cinco De Mayo themed roundup so you can get your friends together and celebrate the beautiful, warm weather. Enjoy!

1. Coconut Creamsicle Margaritas from How Sweet Eats look mouthwatering.

2. Pinata history and a roundup of Design Sponge’s favorite pinatas.

May 1st is a traditional spring holiday celebrated in many cultures, May Day. The earliest May Day celebrations appeared in pre-Christian times, with the festival of Flora, the Roman goddess of flowers. A common May Day practice is leaving flowers on your neighbor’s doors as a Springtime greeting. A simple way to leave flowers is to place them in a paper cone or mason jar and tie it to the door knob. You can find a tutorial on how to make a paper cone here.

We celebrated Earth Day by providing sustainable flowers and decor for Bloomberg’s New Energy Finance Summit, we got to meet with some very talented interior designers who we’re working with for an upcoming event at the D&D Building next month (stay tuned for more details) and we had a meeting with our charity partner OCRF for an auction event that they’re having next week at City Bakery. The NYC Flower District

This morning like most mornings, we found ourselves in the Flower District. For those of you who have never been, it’s on 28th street between 6th and 7th avenue and is made up of a a bunch of supply stores, vase stores, and wholesalers. You can walk down the street and see flowers everywhere you look, it’s kind of awesome. We were out buying flowers and supplies for an Ovarian Cancer Research Fund auction event tonight at City Bakery but I wanted to share with you some of the stuff we saw.

Happy Earth Day

Today is Earth Day and also the start of Bloomberg’s New Energy Finance Summit which discusses the future of energy at the Grand Hyatt. We had the opportunity to decorate Bank of America’s conference and reception rooms for the Summit and decided to keep with the sustainable, green theme of the conference. Events can easily be made environmentally conscious by simply taking a few steps. One major way is to not purchase cut flowers to decorate, instead choose potted ones that can be used to well after the event or even planted outdoors. For today’s event we chose to repot white orchids in modern silver vases and place wheat grass in small silver square vases. The end look was clean, modern and best of all, sustainable.
