B Inspired: Create Your Own 2016 Inspiration Board
Are you ready to make 2016 the best year ever? Us too.
With the start of a new year, there is always a sense of a fresh start. As floral and event designers, we like to start the year off FULL of inspiration!
While we love Pinterest, sometimes it can be therapeutic to step away from the computer screen and get your hands a little dirty. Here is how we stepped up our inspiration game this year and how you too can create your own 2016 Inspiration board in 3 easy steps.
1. Round up Supplies
First, we gathered some of our favorite magazines and odds and ends from around the office. We're lucky to work in event design- we have 2 (HUGE!) closets in our offices that are filled with vases, paper, ribbon, and pretty much anything you can think of! We also purchased a medium sized cork board from one of our FAV stores- Michaels.
2. Start cutting
Snip away. We began to flip through our favorite mags and rip out pages that "spoke" to us. It can sound silly but sometime your gut just tells you what you like. Cut away at your favorite pages- whether it is the color, design, or words on the page that catch your eye- it doesn't matter- as long as you're inspired.
3. Pin
The "real life" inspiration board version of Pinterest is almost just as easy as clicking that little "pin" button. Just (literally) pin your images down into your cork board, arranging them in the way that brings you the most joy! We even bought little rose quartz colored pins to tie into one of the 2016 Pantone colors of the year.
It's that easy.
To spruce things up a bit, we added some fun ribbons, 3-D paper flowers, and other textures to give our inspiration board even more life.
Hope our inspiration board... inspires YOU:
Happy 2016!
