Decide whether you’re keeping it simple or going over-the-top. Once you’ve decided which décor route you want to go for this, then you can decide your color palette. Deciding your color palette at the beginning of your design process will help keep you on track when you’re getting down to the very last details.

If you are looking to make a subtle impact, a monochromatic color scheme works perfectly. Winter whites and creams pair well together if you want to achieve a sophisticated and cohesive look. Sticking with a monochromatic color scheme is an easy way to create a theme and achieve a cohesive look with minimal effort.

Go for the Gold

When in doubt, use gold as an anchor color for your festive setup. Using gold as your base color allows you to have fun with complementary colors. Even if you’re looking to be a little less traditional, gold is a surefire way to keep the holiday aesthetic alive.

Pops of (Nontraditional) Color

For traditionally festive vibes, choose holiday décor colors and tones like reds and greens but don’t feel that you have to fully commit to a holiday color palette. For autumn, we like to think of creative ways to incorporate pumpkins and maple leaves into our décor. For winter, we like to incorporate pinecones, berries, and other natural elements into the design. Remember, to think beyond the table surface. Elevating specific elements in varying heights will add dimension to your table. Also, consider sprucing up your chairs with added décor like foliage or ribbon.

Place settings can make impactful statements. When it comes to table settings we like to think of dressing your table as if you were dressing yourself. You can either go with a traditional, clean-cut table setting or go funky with some fun dish-ware and cutlery. Your place settings can take on a life of their own, so don’t be afraid to have a little fun.
