Employee Spotlight Leha Edwards

Leha Edwards is a Senior Event Design Manager at B Floral. She loves B Floral’s fast-paced environment and close-knit team. Leha loves pageantry, enjoys creating costumes and loves high-impact entrances!

What is a typical day like for you at B Floral?

I send out about 50 emails a day, and spend a long time connecting with clients over conference calls!

What do you like most about working at B Floral?

Everyone in the company is very empowering of each other! If you have a side hobby – we want to know so that we can support you!

What is the most difficult part of your job?

Deadlines can be tough for anyone, but the most taxing aspect is definitely when I run out of my little Babybel cheeses.

Did you always want to work in Events? How did your career lead you to B Floral?

I wanted to be a wedding planner when I was a kid, but then I started working at a floral shop in high school. My love for details naturally paved my way to this industry and to New York!

What has been your favorite event (or events) that you’ve worked on and why?

I’ve really loved working with all of the new plant-based food companies that are sprouting up in this growing industry! Allowing an event’s guests to experience the product through multiple senses is such a great way to introduce consumers to your product.

Who do you look to for advice when it’s needed?

There are multiple women in our office that always make themselves available, but sometimes a Google search can provide so much information! Knowledge is power!

If you had to give a piece of advice to 13 year old you, what would it be?

Being afraid of math is not the same thing as being bad at it. Get a tutor, stay late after school, and empower yourself! Also – skip the white eye shadow phase.

When you are not at work, what do you like to do in your free time?

I love watching the Packers win and the Patriots lose.

What is your proudest moment at B Floral?

Landing complex projects with high-end clients because we weren’t afraid to make a recommendation that the client didn’t consider.

What has surprised you about working in the events industry?

It wasn’t something that I had really thought about before becoming involved, but the ability to work with such a diverse clientele. There’s a vast range in backgrounds and event types that you really meet people from all walks of life.

If you were a flower, what would you be?

I think I’d be a dandelion. Great medicinal uses and can even grow through a crack in the concrete.
