Employee Spotlight: Olivia Tedesco

Employee Spotlight: Olivia Tedesco

B Floral’s dynamic team and corporate business approach allow it to stand out from typical event design firms in New York City. Our Event Design Department is comprised of Event Design Managers, Logistics Coordinators, and Logistics Assistants - all who contribute to the vision and success of each event!

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Logistics Assistant, Olivia Tedesco.

Olivia began her career at B Floral as an Events Intern but was hired shortly after as a Logistics Assistant. She recently graduated from Northeastern University in Boston and is so excited to be in New York pursuing her dream of working in events. In her free time, Olivia is likely drinking wine and watching Maisel at home or at a comedy club with friends in the Village.

What is a typical day like for you at B Floral?

Busy! Typically filled with creating invoices and event agreements, confirming event logistics with clients, and drinking lots of tea.

What do you like most about working at B Floral?

My awesome team and getting to see the beautiful installations we create for our clients.

What is the most difficult part of your job?

Making sure no detail is overlooked!

Did you always want to work in Events? How did your career lead you to B Floral?

I’ve wanted to work in events since I was 14, and while at Northeastern, I completed three 6-month internships related to the field. Once I graduated, I joined B Floral as an intern and was lucky enough to be hired full-time not long after!

What has been your favorite event (or events) that you’ve worked on and why?

I grew up in Germany, so naturally, I loved the Oktoberfest arch we built for A. Lange & Söhne in the fall – it was also the first time I saw our design team work their magic on site!

Who do you look to for advice when it’s needed?

I’m more of an internal processor, but sometimes I’ll use my friends’ group chat as a sounding board.

If you had to give a piece of advice to 13 year old you, what would it be?

Keep working hard and wear less eyeliner.

When you are not at work, what do you like to do in your free time?

Drink wine, watch musicals, go out in the city, run, and plan trips with my friends.

What is your proudest moment at B Floral?

My proudest moment at B Floral was when my work twin Lola was out on vacation, and I got to step in for her and grow as a new employee. During this time, I learned so much and proved to myself how much I was capable of taking on.

What has surprised you about working in the events industry?

How committed and passionate everyone is about the work.

If you were a flower, what would you be?

Ironically, I don’t know anything about flowers!
