Let’s Look at the Elephant in the Room: Event Design Featuring Animals
Here at B Floral, we’ve seen it all! We have numerous capabilities when it comes to event design and production, even event design and production that features animals! We’ve worked with several different types of clients wishing to feature animals in some way or another at their event. Galas, media events, press events, social gatherings, corporate dinners, product launches and more have all been places where we’ve been able to experiment with event design that features animals, and it is always a hit with guests. Animals Made with Flowers
If you’re looking to pay homage to a certain animal or just looking to coordinate with a particular theme, an animal made out of flowers and floral elements is certain to be a show-stopping piece. An animal made out of flowers can act as a statement piece that will stun guests and entice them to snap pics all night long. One of our favorite ways to utilize this technique is to add varying floral elements to greenery and moss fixtures such as topiaries. The greenery creates a base for whatever types of animals you may be creating (elephant, bunny, dog, etc.) and easily allows for other elements to be added on. From there, you can play with color scheme, styles, types of florals and more! Use these statement pieces as photo moments, in centerpieces, mixed in with product displays and more. At our very own circus soirée, we made an elephant out of flowers that welcomed guests into our event. We have also worked with the ASPCA to create the cutest floral dogs and bunnies!
Animal Themed Events
If you’re looking to incorporate animals into an event, but don’t want to be too garish or sensational, use animals in your overall theme to include them subtly throughout the entirety of your event. Rather than utilizing only one giant animal-centric piece, use smaller, more focused animal pieces throughout your whole venue. Use stuffed animals in tablescapes and centerpieces to pull together a Noah’s Ark themed event. Guests will get to view the décor close up and interact with it on a more subdued level. Utilize horse figures in your centerpieces to create varying height dimensions for your event décor. That way, you’re ensuring that you’re fully utilizing every inch of your venue to your advantage. Animal-themed events are great for occasions that are more light-hearted and celebratory. Social events, product launches for younger audiences, and galas honoring children are all events that would thrive with animal-focused themes.
Intricate Event Design with Animals
Animals in event design don’t always have to be fully over the top and at the forefront of your guests’ experience. Pull things back to a smaller level and create more curated, detailed pieces that guests can discover on their own. They will truly appreciate the thought and detail that went into smaller pieces that may be trickier to notice at first. These pieces can almost act as “Easter eggs” that will make guests feel like they caught on to something special, creating a sense of exclusivity with your event. The best thing that you can do for your event is to prove that every single decision was as intentional as possible. Every single napkin cuff and cardholder had a purpose for being chosen.
Use woven straw reindeer on a mantle to create a wintry scene that guests will want to immerse themselves in. Utilize mini animal figurines throughout your product displays and arrangement displays to make all of your event décor cohesive. No matter what kind of event you may be hosting - awards show, networking event, bridal shower - there is a way to incorporate smaller, intricate event design with animals that is intentional and meaningful.
Life-Size Animals
If you’re looking for a design element that is over the top, go with a life-size animal design at your next event! It will literally be larger than life and totally surprise guests. Create an entire landscape that houses your life-size animal that guests can walk through. This will make attendees feel completely immersed in your event and it will contribute to your complete venue transformation. Guests are always looking for immersive experiences and one that includes animals is simply irresistible. Have fun with materials and use unique elements that wouldn’t normally come to mind when creating a life-size animal.
We worked with Rent the Runway on the launch of their kids’ style line and created this unique glitter changing giraffe that guests could pose and interact with directly at the event. Kids of all ages loved the experience and wanted to interact with the brand even more. They couldn’t get enough of our sparkly friend and the mythical environment she was placed in.
